Michigan

Surrounded by four of the five
Great Lakes and comprised
of two peninsulas, Michigan is a
land of striking extremes and
interesting in-betweens.

Michigan's lower peninsula is the more
populated of the two peninsulas and contains
the state's largest cities and industrial areas,
but becomes more rugged and forested as you
go north. Crossing the Mackinac (Mackinaw)
Bridge, Michigan's upper peninsula is far
less populated, with many state and national
parks, wildlife, waterfalls, and even a
few mountains.
