ANG 120 Drawing for Animation 3-2-3 (Lecture/1 Standard Lab/2 Open Lab) A practical drawing course that will review and implement fundamentals of traditional animation. Storyboarding, scene layout, character design and movement will be studied. Students will broaden their visual vocabulary by exposure to various animation techniques and styles.
Prerequisites: ART 101, ART 103, ART 212, GRD 101, and GRD 102 or instructor permission.

ANG 121 3D Animation 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab)
This course applies standard animation principles to a 3D computer environment. The focus of this course is the knowledge, use, and application of software techniques in conjunction with the various fundamental techniques of animation. Students will learn about the fundamental techniques of 3D animation and acquire hands-on experience with animation software. Prerequisites: ART 101, ART 103, ART 212, GRD 101, GRD 102, and ANG 120 or instructor's permission.

ANG 220 Advanced 3D Animation 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course continues using traditional animation principles in a 3D computer environment. The focus of this course is on advanced animation techniques including character animation, rigging, basic lighting, and rendering. Students will learn about the fundamental techniques of 3D animation and acquire hands-on experience with animation software. prerequisites: ANG 121 or instructor permission.

ANG 221 Motion Graphics 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course teaches students motion graphics and visual effects using industry standard motion graphics and interactive design software. Students will learn about the multimedia environment, using still images, incorporating pixel and vector files, audio tools, three-dimensional and specific effects, keyframes and animation. Prerequisites: ART 101, ART 103, GRD 101, GRD 102, GRD 107, GRD 108, WDD 251 or instructor permission.

ART 212 Life Drawing 3-2-3 (Lecture/1 Standard Lab/2 Open Lab) In this advanced drawing course, students will study the human figure using live models. Students will learn the creative interpretation of structure, gesture and space as they relate to line, form, and value in rendering the human figure. This course is required for further study in animation. Prerequisites: ART 103.

WDD 151 Intro to Interactive Design 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course teaches the fundamentals of designing for multi-media/animation using Macromedia Flash. Students will participate in hands-on experiences using Macintosh computers. Prerequisites; ART 101, ART 103, GRD 101, GRD 102 or instructor permission.

WDD 251 Multimedia 3-2-3 (Lecture/1 Standard Lab/2 Open Lab) This course introduces the techniques and technology necessary to develop and produce multimedia content. Student projects explore the concept, design, development and creation of multimedia productions. Topics will include industry standard multimedia software, hardware (Mac & PC), storage requirements, design methods, video, audio, animations, 3D and web. Prerequisites: ART 101, ART 103, GRD 101, GRD 102, GRD 107 and GRD 108.
