This program offers competencies beyond the associate degree, providing students opportunity to upgrade current skills, become up-to-date with industry standards, or become highly specialized in a particular discipline. Awarding a post-associate certificate requires that students earn a minimum of an Associate Degree, prior work-related experience, or instructor approval. It is recommended that students take at least three full terms to complete all the classes in this program.

ANM 120 Business for Designers 3-3-0 (Lecture/Discussion)/3-0-0 (Web) This is a survey of the general business concepts related to the operation of a business with special emphasis on how these principals can apply to individuals in the digital design fields. Students will be introduced to business functions including management, advertising, marketing, finances and project management. The purpose is to familiarize design students with the business techniques they need to operate successfully in a commercial environment. A simulation will be used in order to demonstrate the operational aspects of a business.

ANM 132 Character Design 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course focuses on the creation of dynamic and engaging characters for illustration, games, film, television, and other media. This course utilizes time tested, industry standard practices to help the student design character concepts for use in other media. Students will learn about the fundamental techniques of drawing and painting and acquire hands-on experience with both traditional and digital media. Prerequisites: ANM 101 or ANM 102, or ANM 103, ANM 104, ANM 105 or ANM 106, ART 212.

ANM 141 Graphic Design 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course involves understanding the various stages of developing layouts for print and web. A focus on the organization of visual information (type, imagery) will be emphasized through the creation of specific visual communication exercises. Students will be exposed to contemporary design issues and be expected to expand their understanding of formal design principles, type as imagery, creative brainstorming, critical thinking, group work, presentation, and craftsmanship. ANM 170 Digital Photography 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course teaches the fundamentals of photography using a digital camera. In addition to learning how to use a camera, students will also learn how to use and manipulate light, create dynamic compositions, and use the computer to complement a digital image. ANM 173 Storyboarding 3-2-3 (Lecture/1 Standard Lab/2 Open Lab) This course applies the principles of storytelling in a sequence of visual images. Students will learn the importance of storyboards and how to create dynamic and informative compositions. Using terms and techniques of today's multimedia industry, students will learn the fundamentals of creating storyboards. Prerequisites: ANM 101 or ANM 102 or ANM 103, ANM 104, ANM 105 or ANM 106.

ANM 251 Drawing Human Figure Motion 3-2-3 (Lecture/1 Standard Lab/2 Open Lab) This course further develops a student's ability of drawing through observation and interpretation of the human form using live models. Students will experience increased opportunities to study the human form and to create more fully developed drawings. Coursework will also include studies of the human figure in motion. ANM 259 Advanced Illustration Practice 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course is an advanced course for the student of illustration. Coursework concentrates on concept development and creative problem solving using relevant illustration media and techniques. ANM 270 Advance Digital Photography 3-1-6 (Lecture/3 Standard Lab/3 Open Lab) This course takes the fundamentals learned in Digital Photography to create artistic, stylized photographic images. Students will study different kinds of photographic styles and recreate them digitally. Students will also learn techniques used in documentary, food, fashion, and marketing photography. Prerequisites: All 100-level prerequisites.
