CIS 233 Introduction to Oracle: SQL 3-2-3 (Lecture/Standard Lab)
This course offers students an extensive introduction to data server technology. The course covers the concepts of both relational and object relational databases and the powerful SQL programming language. Students are taught to create and maintain database objects and to store, retrieve, and manipulate data. Students learn to retrieve data by using advanced techniques such as ROLLUP, CUBE, set operators, and hierarchical retrieval. They also learn to write SQL and SQL*Plus script files using the iSQL*Plus tool to generate report-like output. Demonstrations and hands-on practice reinforce the fundamental concepts. Course is designed to cover the objectives required to pass the Oracle Test #1Z0-007.

CIS 236 Oracle Database Fundamentals I 3-3-0 (Lecture/Discussion) This course will cover the current Oracle Database release. Oracle Database Administrators (DBA) manage the industry's most advanced information systems and command some of the highest salaries. This course is the student's first step toward success as an Oracle professional, designed to give the student a firm foundation in basic database tasks. In this class, the student will learn how to design, create, and maintain an Oracle database. The course is designed to cover all the objectives for the Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate Exam. Prerequisites: CIS 233.
