Students Awarded a Federal Stafford Loan
To finalize your request for
a student loan, you must access your KVCC VIP account to accept, reduce, or
decline your student loan offer. You will also need to sign the
Pre-Loan Certification
form. Future loan changes can be made by completing the
KVCC Intent/Adjustment
form available on our website or in the Financial Aid Office.
New or first-time loan
borrowers at KVCC must complete
Entrance Loan Counseling
and a Master Promissory Note.
Loan Counseling must be completed via the
Internet. To do this, simply go to
www.kvcc.edu, Getting Started, Financial Aid
Opportunities, then Loan Counseling. Once you have completed loan counseling we
will automatically be notified upon your successful completion by the next
business day. Delays in completing Entrance Loan Counseling will delay the
processing of your loan(s). To complete your Master Promissory Note, go to
www.kvcc.edu/financial/promissory.htm.
If you have been awarded a
Federal Stafford Loan, your classes will be held until your first loan
disbursement is received by the College. Your classes will be held only if
you have completed Entrance Loan Counseling and accepted your student
loan(s) either prior to or on the day you registered for a minimum of 6 credit
hours for the current semester. If your loan disbursement does not cover
your full tuition/fees, your remaining balance must be paid immediately
to prevent your classes from being dropped.
If you need to purchase
books and supplies prior to receiving your loan credit balance/refund, you may
stop in the Financial Aid Office and request a Book Voucher to be used only at
the KVCC Bookstore. Refer to semester class schedule for specific dates when a
book authorization or voucher will be available.
You will receive your loan proceeds with any other financial aid credit
balance/refund electronically.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College is
partnering with Higher One, a financial services company, to bring a new
method for receiving your financial aid credit balance/refund - the VALLEY
ONECARD. Your VALLEY ONECARD will be mailed to you at the address on file

throw away your VALLEY ONECARD! If the card must be replaced there will be
a $20 fee. You will use this card to sign in to
