Financial Aid

To ensure students fully understand the obligation associated with borrowing a loan, Federal regulations require student loan borrowers to complete Entrance Loan Counseling before disbursement of any loan funds.  Entrance Loan Counseling provides borrowers with a better understanding of their rights and responsibilities.  Prior to graduation or withdrawal from KVCC, student loan borrowers are required to complete Exit Loan Counseling.  Exit Loan Counseling reinforces the borrower's understanding of their loans, loan debt and his/hers rights and responsibilities.  We strongly encourage you to contact the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions or concerns regarding your loan obligation.  We are available to assist you.

Entrance Loan Counseling

 (Please Note: New borrowers at KVCC are required to complete Entrance Loan Counseling one session covers both the Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford loan.)  

KVCC provides Entrance Loan Counseling via the Internet.  On-line loan counseling provides a faster and more convenient process for borrowers.  To access the Entrance Loan Counseling module, click on Entrance Loan Counseling above, or click on the link at the top of the page.  The first segment of the counseling session involves a presentation of important information about your Federal Stafford Loan.  The second part consists of a quiz to ensure that you understand the information presented in the initial segment.  The KVCC Financial Aid Office will be notified when you have successfully completed the quiz.  Upon completion of the Entrance Loan Counseling session, you will have the option to return to the KVCC home page.

Exit Loan Counseling

Exit Loan Counseling is required of all student loan borrowers prior to leaving KVCC.  Contact the Financial Aid Office to set up an appointment to meet with a Financial Aid Advisor to complete your Exit Loan Counseling in person, or complete this requirement on-line.  To access the Exit Loan Counseling module, click on Exit Loan Counseling above, or click on the icon at the top of the page.  The first segment of the counseling session will present important information about the repayment of your student loans.  The second segment consists of a quiz to ensure you understand the information presented in the first segment.  The KVCC Financial Aid Office will be notified when you have successfully completed Exit Loan Counseling.
