Trice Batson and Franki Hand will give an update of Kalamazoo Valley Community College's Used Name Policy and how to support those interested in requesting a used name. The policy allows students, faculty and staff to use a name of their choosing in many places where a legal name is not required. Kalamazoo Valley Community College's Student Financial Services Office is hosting several FAFSA® Nights to assist families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Staff will be available to answer questions.
Students do not need to be attending Kalamazoo Valley to receive assistance in completing the FAFSA®. If you have questions or need help, stop by the Student Financial Services Office every Tuesday between 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., Room 9210 at the Texas Township Campus.

Mental Health First Aid(MHFA) is the help offered to a person who may be developing a mental health challenge or is in a mental health crisis. It is an international, evidence-based program that teaches people to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges.In this course, you'll learn the prevalence ofmental healthissues and the need to reduce stigma, the importance ofearly interventionon mental health challenges, how to apply the appropriate steps of theMHFAAction Plan, how to identify and assist with early or worsening signs of mental health challenges, how to identify/assist with a mental health crisis and learn the importance ofself-careas we become Mental Health First Aiders.
