I graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School,
Calvin College (in Sociology) and Troy State University (TSU is in Alabama), with a
Master's Degree in Counseling. I have worked at KVCC since 1974.
Special Interest
I particularly enjoy the challenges of Career Counseling, working with adult students who
would like Credit for Prior Learning, and with students who are attending college for the
first time.
My philosophy of helping people, in the college setting, is to help them learn how to help
themselves. I've got information that you need, but you've got just as much ability as I
have...to be independent... to be motivated... to be intelligent... to set goals... to
attain goals. Sometimes those abilities need to be encouraged to grow. I love to help
people to reach their goals. The sky is the limit!
