To access the
KVCC Library's Electronic Databases from off campus:
- If you are logged in through VIP, the college's Valley Information Portal, click the
Library tab. The Library home page will open.
- On the Library
web page, click the Find Articles link.
The electronic databases page will open.
- Select the database
you wish to use. That database will open in a new window.
- You can connect
to other databases from the Find Articles web page without
logging into VIP again as long as you have not closed your browser
since first logging in.
- When you are on a college page outside of VIP, hold your mouse over College Resources and scroll down to Libraries. The Library home page will open.
- On the Library page, click the Find Articles link. The electronic databases page will open.
- Select the database you wish to use. You'll be asked to login.
Problems?
If you follow the steps above but cannot get into one or more of the datab ases, please note that several of the same databases are available through the Michigan eLibrary.
You will be prompted to log in with your Michigan driver's license or state ID card number.
KVCC databases available through MeL include: Academic OneFile, General OneFile, General Business File ASAP, Computer Database, What Do I Read Next?, Health Reference Center Academic, Health and Wellness Resource Center, LegalTrac, SIRS Renaissance and WilsonSelectPlus.
AOL Users:
If you have problems with VIP or the databases,
try this: Connect to the Internet with AOL, then minimize your
AOL window and open Internet Explorer. Use Internet Explorer to
enter VIP.
