Valley Information Portal (VIP)


Calendar

If you have never been admitted to KVCC, or have not attended in the past five years, you will need to submit an application to activate your web account. Contact the Student Service Center at 269-488-4100 if you have questions.

 

Browser Requirements:

Firefox (Download Firefox)

Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher for PC (Download Internet Explorer)

(Note:  AOL users may need to exit their AOL browser and use one mentioned above.)

Login to system

1.  Valley Information Portal (VIP)

2.  Username    (example: jsmith1234)

     1st initial, max 10 letters of last name, last 4-digits of your Valley Number

3.  Password  (originally your birthdate MMDDYY, if provided; or the last 6-digits of your Valley Number)

4.  Login

Change your password

1. Tools   (top right)
2. Change Password
3.  Enter Username    (example: jsmith1234)
     1st initial, max 10 letters of last name, last 4-digits of  your Valley Number

4.  Current Password    (originally your birthdate MMDDYY)

5.  Type New Password

       (A minimum combination of 8 characters including at least one letter, one number and

      one of the following characters: ! % * + - / : ? _ )

6.  Retype New Password to confirm

7.  Change Password

Register or add a class

Note: Some courses have required or recommended prerequisites. Please review the
course catalog before registering to see if your course has a prerequisite.

2.  Select a term from drop down menu

3.  Submit Term

4.  Enter a CRN in any of the fields provided in the Add Class worksheet. 

     (Entering a CRN on the worksheet does not reserve a seat until you submit them. )
    Or, perform a Class Search (see instructions below).

5.  Submit Changes

     After reviewing course availability, the system will post courses you successfully registered

     for on your Current ScheduleError messages for courses that cannot be added will show

     below the current schedule.  For example, cancelled classes will show the error message

     "Course is not available for registration at this time."

6.  View Account Detail and Pay at bottom of page

     Note:  Print this screen for your tuition bill.

7.  View Detailed Schedule to print a copy of your class schedule.
8.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Search for a class

Note: Some courses have required or recommended prerequisites. Please review the

3.  Submit Term

4.  Class Search   (near bottom of page)

5.  Subject (Required)  

6.  Select any available menu choices.  (optional)

7.  Class Search

8.  Click the box to the left of the CRN you prefer

       A "C" in place of the box designates a class is closed.  A box will not appear if you are

       already registered for a CRN or it is too late to register.

9.  Register to immediately add the class

       Note:  We do not recommend using "Add to Worksheet." Entering a CRN on this table
       does not reserve a seat until you submit your changes.

10.  Submit Changes

11.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Drop or withdraw from a class

2.  Select a term from drop down menu

3.  Submit Term

4.  Drop or Withdraw  from the drop down menu to the left of the course 

     If neither option is available, it may be too late to remove yourself from the class. 

     Check the deadline dates and if the deadline has not past, you will need to withdraw

     in person.  You may come to either campus to withdraw in person prior to the deadline date.

5.  Submit Changes

6.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Tuition view and print

1.  My Quick Link: My Account

2.  Select a term from drop down menu

4.  Print on your server toolbar

5.  Account Summary by Term at the bottom of the page to review your account history

5.  Pay Tuition at the bottom of the page to submit your payment
6.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Pay Tuition

1.  My Quick Link: Pay Tuition
     Note: You will be redirected to a secure payment website. The amount due is displayed on 

     this form and will automatically load into the credit card payment field.

2.  Select a term

3.  Click Make Payment

4.  If necessary, correct the tuition amount you will be paying.

5.  Select a payment method (credit card or eCheck electronic funds transfer)

6.  Click Continue

7.  Enter the required account information.

8.  Click Continue

9.  Review the payment information for accuracy.
10.  Click Continue
11.  Log off and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

     There are payment options available, such as email notifications, account profile storage and  

     the ability to set up an account for another person to pay your tuition for you. Please explore

     your payment account or call the Pay Station at 269-488-4292 for more information.

View Financial Aid Eligibility Completion Status

5.  Submit
     Review the outstanding tracking documents you need to submit.
6.  Print on your server toolbar

View Financial Aid Award Completion Status

4.  Select aid year
5.  Submit
     Review the award amounts that have been approved.

View Financial Aid Loan and Work-Study Award Acceptance

3.  Award by Aid Year
4.  Select aid year
5.  Accept Award Offer
6.  Select aid year
7.  Submit
     Accept, reduce or decline your award offer.  Then come into the Financial Aid office to sign     
     appropriate paperwork.
8.  Print on your server toolbar
9.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

View Authorized Financial Aid and Payment Due

1. My Quick Link:  My Account/Pay Tuition
2. Select aid year
3.  Account Detail for Term
4.  If Current Due net of Authorized Aid shows an amount to be paid, you must pay this amount
     unless you have approved loan money available to cover the amount.  If you have additional
     aid money pending approval you must pay the balance if the additional aid will not be
     approved by the payment deadline.
5.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

View Financial Aid Payment Hold

3.  Select aid year
4.  Holds
5.  Review any holds listed and contact the Financial Aid office if appropriate.
     Note:  If a hold states “classes held pending loan,” we are anticipating your loan payment in
     the future.  Therefore, your classes will not be cancelled for nonpayment unless you owe a
     portion of the tuition and do not submit payment yourself.
6. Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Grades view and print

1. My Quick Link:  My Grades

2.  Select a Term from the drop down menu

3.  Submit Term

4.  Print on your server toolbar

5. Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Transcript view and print

1.  My Quick Link:  My Transcript

2.  Select a level from the drop down menu

          Undergraduate = credit courses

          Continuing Education = noncredit courses

          All levels = both credit and noncredit courses

3.  Submit

4.  Print on your server toolbar
       Note:  This printout is considered an unofficial transcript.
       You must order official transcripts
from the Admissions, Registration and Records Office.

5. Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Degree Progress Report

1. My Quick Link:  Graduation Information/Petition to Graduate
2. Web Capp

3.  Select the current term from drop down menu

4.  Submit Term

5. Make sure the correct program is listed and click the radio button beside it.

    (If you need to make a program change, contact the Counseling office or

     Student Service Center on either campus.)

6.  Generate New Evaluation
7. Click the button next to the Program
8. Generate Request
9. Select General Requirements, Detailed Requirements or Additional Information
10. Submit

11.  Back to Display Options or Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout

Petition to Graduate

1. My Quick Link:  Graduation Information/Petition to Graduate
2. Petition to Graduate

3. Select the month you wish to graduate. 

     (Winter graduation in May must be petitioned by March 31st,  Summer graduation

     in August by June 30th and Fall graduation in December by October 31st.)
4. Make sure your address and telephone number are correct.

    (If you need to make a change, submit a Personal Information Update form to the

     Admissions, Registration and Records Office or the Student Service Center on either campus.)
5. If you are transferring to another institution, select the college from the drop down list.
6. Make sure the correct program is listed.

    (If you need to make a program change, contact the Counseling office or

     Student Service Center on either campus.)
7. Select Yes or No to indicate if you are transferring credits from another college to KVCC
     and indicate from which college(s) in the space provided.
8.  Submit
     Note: The Degree Auditor will reply via e-mail to your KVCC e-mail address.
9.  Exit and Close to return to VIP where you can continue or Logout
