| The purpose of
the Reading/Writing Center is to serve as a drop-in tutoring service
for students enrolled in KVCC courses. Assistance is
available from full-time staff and student tutors.
Students can receive assistance with
writing essays and research papers, and
proper documentation. Students may also use one of the
many available computers. |

Getting
the most out of tutoring:
- VISIT
the Reading/Writing Center as soon as you need help.
- PREPARE
for your tutoring session. Read your text, attend class
regularly, do as much of your homework as you can beforehand.
- BRING
your textbook, notes, current assignment, and any other materials which
will help the tutor understand what you are doing.
- PICK-UP
a contact card when you arrive. Complete it while you are
waiting for the next available tutor. These records allow
us to schedule staff to meet student needs.
- AT
THE TUTORING TABLE begin working
while waiting patiently for a tutor; work with other students
when possible.

- A tutor will work with you as soon as
