Brent Haddow is the new Veteran’s Outreach Coordinator
for VetSuccess on Campus in the Student Success Center on the Texas Township
Campus. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Michigan State University
graduate. He recently transferred from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
regional office in Detroit.
“I’m excited about the program and what it means for Kalamazoo Valley,” Haddow said. “I am working closely with the college and community resources to ensure that all veterans – both students and members of the community – are aware of VetSuccess on Campus and have easy access to the benefits available.”
The VetSuccess on Campus program provides: help accessing, understanding and applying for VA benefits; assistance in applying for healthcare benefits (medical, mental health referrals and readjustment counseling services) for eligible veterans and their families; vocational exploration and assistance in selecting a suitable career/major; job placement assistance and coordination with Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives and Training Service; coordination with school faculty/staff to provide veteran services; and assistance in locating community and other resources.
Haddow’s office is located at Room # 4261 in the Student Commons at the Texas Township Campus. He’s in the office on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and evenings by appointment. He also has an office at Western Michigan University.
