Automotive Technology

Welcome to the Kalamazoo Valley Automotive Technology Program

Automotive Technology is at the very beginning of a major new focus - alternative fuels.

In the meantime, there are millions of vehicles in the United States that need maintenance and repair.

Join us as we explore this exciting field where the sky is the limit - or is it??

Because the average American family owns at least two vehicles, the automotive service industry has a severe shortage of qualified automotive technicians.

This is just one aspect of a wide open career field. Your education at KVCC will prepare you for an entry-level technician position, a specialist entry-level position, or to pursue further educational goals.

The possibilities are huge and include such diverse fields as service technician, service writer, parts specialist, automotive engineering, customizing, restoration, research and development, and many more.

If you can think of it and it relates to vehicles, we can help you get there!

The Automotive Technology Program at KVCC strives for excellence.

The program is NATEF Master-Certified in Automotive repair, meaning there is a rigorous and frequent evaluation process to maintain this certification. This KVCC curriculum offers education and training in the following areas: Under-Car specialist, Engine-Performance specialist, Power-Train specialist, and a two-year associate's degree in automotive technology. Please take a look at our specific classes.

These courses are updated each semester to meet NATEF guidelines and the ever-changing and advancing technological aspects of the automotive service industry.

Check through your schedule, read about your courses and meet your instructors. We've got something for everybody!
