Holding an item:

Holds allow you to get on a waiting list for a book, request book delivery to your preferred campus, or simply have items ready for convenient pick-up at either of the Circulation Desks. You can place a hold by contacting the Circulation Department at 488-4328 or through your account online (see video below).

Students who have 1 long overdue item and/or $25 in fines/fees receive an account hold. This hold blocks all Library borrowing as well as the receipt of final grades and transcripts.
A Library hold will not block registering for classes.

To remove a hold, all items must be returned and fines/fees paid to the Pay Station. Only Library staff can determine the correct amount owed to clear your account, so check with the Circulation desk before making any payments to the Pay Station. Once a payment has been made, bring your receipt to the Circulation desk to remove the hold; this may take up to 24 business hours.

If our library does not have what you need, we may be able to borrow it via interlibrary loan for your use. Please note that loaned books can take as long as 2 weeks to arrive. Articles usually arrive within a few days.

Contact Reference Services to request an interlibrary loan:

  • Texas Township Library: 488-4380
  • Arcadia Commons Library: 373-7848

Or fill out the Interlibrary Loan form and send it to LIBREF@kvcc.edu

Contact Chris Robbins at 488-4331 for the status of a pending interlibrary loan.
