OFE Dinner Raises Over $29,000 for Scholarships
The 2009 Opportunities for Education dinner featuring keynote speaker, former Governor of Vermont and candidate for Democratic nomination of President, Howard Dean helped raise in excess of $29,000 for student scholarships.
At a well attended scholarship fund raising dinner held at the Radisson Hotel & Suites in downtown Kalamazoo on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, Â the KVCC Foundation in partnership with National City Bank / PNC sponsored its 5th annual Opportunities for Education event.
"We were quite pleased at the success of this years event", commented Stephen Doherty, KVCC Foundations Executive Director, "Given the economic climate we are living in today it is a testament to those in this community that attended our event as to how important education really is and the support we received speaks to the awareness of our need for scholarship dollars that assist our students who will one day become important members of our local workforce and our community
