More than just a warehouse for books, the Kalamazoo Valley Libraries are a gateway to knowledge.
Most of our materials are available online around the clock. We even offer
a 24-7 chat-reference service.
The College Timeline is available for review as Kalamazoo Valley approaches its 50th anniversary.
Library Staff Spotlight
Irene Turcott - Reference Librarian, Texas Township Campus
Nancy Young - Periodicals,
Texas Township Campus
We love to cook. NOT!!! We do like to eat of course, especially chocolate. Luckily we both have roomies who generously share their love of cooking with us. When no one is around to cook for us Nancy eats cereal (for any meal) and Irene makes sandwiches.
Between us we have 53 years of service with KVCC. Nancy has been at the TTC campus her entire career, and worked as a Work Study employee in the Records Office and as the Periodicals Aide & Supervisor in the library. Irene has been back and forth between TTC and ACC and has had several jobs in the library over the years. She's currently a Reference Librarian at TTC.Things Irene likes: Golden retrievers, going to the beach, tennis, going to concerts, gardening, and listening to music & audio books.
Irene's Pet Peeve: Self-service grocery check-out lanes
Irene's Favorite Movies: City of Angels, What Dreams May Come
Irene's Favorite Book: The Secret Garden
Irene's Favorite Group: The Beatles
Things Nancy likes: Hanging out with my siblings, going to the beach, Mackinac Island, & gardening-even though I tend to pull out flowers instead of weeds. That creates a lot of explaining to my roomie!! I do bake. My most sought after cookie is THE NO BAKE COOKIE, but I do bake!!! I am known for my Christmas Candy. I tell people it is so easy but they don't think it's true. I'm okay letting people think I slave in the kitchen. It can only enhance my cooking reputation. Come on, it's only two ingredients-what can go wrong!
Nancy's favorite book: Cooking Basics for Dummies. There is never a time that I'm not reading. Unfortunately, I tend to read at least 3-4 books at a time so sometimes the stories get a little intertwined; makes for interesting reading. I'm also impatient, so I tend to read the ending of the book before I should and then it ruins it for me. We're both avid readers, so stop in to see us for a book recommendation!
