There is still time to enter Kalamazoo Valley’s second annual Alumni+ Art Show

It isn’t too late to enter Kalamazoo Valley’s Second Annual Alumni+ Art Show. Submissions are still being accepted until February 15, 2013. All media are welcome. Participation in this juried show is open to Kalamazoo Valley students who have graduated or taken classes in any field at the college. The prizes are a $500 Best of Show Award, a $300 People's Choice Award, and a $300 Director's Award.

The show will open with a reception at 5:30 p.m. on March 1 in the Center for New Media, Arcadia Commons Campus, as part of the City's monthly Art Hop event.  Art selected for the show will remain on exhibit in the Center for New Media until the end of March.

The art show is sponsored by the college’s Alumni+ program, which was launched in 2010 as a way for graduates, former students, and supporters of Kalamazoo Valley to stay connected to the college and each other.

Karen Matson, Director for the Center for New Media, said she's certain that this year's event will be as popular as last year's inaugural event. "Based on the success and popularity of last year's show, I'm certain that the 2013 Alumni+ show is going to be equally as great, if not better than 2012," Matson said.

Art to be considered in the contest must be turned in to the CNM’s Room 105, or emailed to thecube@kvcc.edu. Digital artwork must meet specific criterion and traditional 2 and 3D artwork must be exhibit-ready. Information and submission forms are available in CNM Room 105 and online at Alumni+ Art Submission Forms
