Alternative loans are non-federal loans used to supplement financial aid for credit worthy students and their families. KVCC encourages students to only consider these loans after all federal financial aid is exhausted. The student is the consumer and should carefully research and consider all costs involved with these loans. The Michigan Student Financial Aid Association has issued a consumer warning regarding these loans: Important Warning for Students Regarding Private Loans
If you do apply for an Alternative Loan and it is approved, KVCC's Financial Aid Ofice will have to certify your eligiblity with your lender. You can contact the office by calling 269-340-0707 or by E-mail: and request certification.
Please Note: Your Alternative Loan will disburse, in most cases, after the tuition due date. An Alternative Loan will not hold your class schedule. You will still need to make payment arrangments with the Pay Station.
