Parent PLUS Loan

PLUS loans are unsubsidized loans for the parents of dependent students. PLUS Loans help pay for education expenses up to the cost of attendance minus all other financial assistance. Interest is charged during all periods. PLUS loans are subject to credit approval. PLUS borrowers must be the student's biological or adoptive parent or the student's stepparent, if the biological or adoptive parent has remarried at the time of application.

The student must have a completed FAFSA on file with KVCC. Additionally, all financial aid packaging requirements must be complete before applying for a PLUS loan. The student must also complete a KVCC Pre-Loan Certification Form.

Parent/stepparents can apply online by logging into www.studentloans.gov and selecting "Apply for PLUS." Parents can also submit the PLUS Loan Application. Parents must also complete a Master Promissory Note for a Parent PLUS loan on www.studentloans.gov.
