To meet industry and community needs, Kalamazoo Valley Community Colleges partners with Green Flower to offer non-credit workforce training programs to prepare learners for a range of roles within the regulated cannabis industry. Students learn online from top industry leaders who've built and scaled successful license operations to help them land their next role, grow as leaders or launch their own cannabis ventures.
Cannabis Associate Certificate (8 weeks)
Introductory cannabis education designed for individuals new to the industry or exploring career pathways. This certificate provides a broad foundation in cannabis knowledge, industry operations and compliance.

Each specialist program includes the eight-week associate course, plus eight more weeks of advanced training in high-growth job sectors. Five tracks are available:
Cultivation Specialist
Prepares students for cultivation jobs across indoor, outdoor and greenhouse environments with essential grow and post-harvest knowledge.
Product Development Specialist
Covers the development of cannabis products from extraction to finished goods, including how to source plant material and the creation of concentrates, edibles, beverages and topicals.
Retail & Sales Specialist
Builds expertise in retail operations, compliance, product knowledge and sales strategy - equipping students to succeed in both dispensary roles and brand sales.
Compliance Specialist
Trains students to manage compliance across cultivation, retail and manufacturing, including licensing and permitting, track-and-trace, packaging, labeling, testing and workplace safety.
Medical Cannabis Specialist
Equips students to guide safe, effective cannabis care for patients and providers, preparing for roles in clinics, dispensaries and other patient settings.
