Alumni Spotlight: Jodi Rogers

Kalamazoo Valley alumna Jodi Rogers has worked in corporate communications at Kellanova, a Fortune 500 company, for the past 12 years where she focuses on corporate storytelling. She says Kalamazoo Valley contributed greatly to her success.
"Kalamazoo Valley provided a strong academic background, strategic thinking skills and the preparation needed to successfully transition to a university and pursue my bachelor's degree," Rogers said. "It was an affordable option that allowed me to take core credits while I figured out what I wanted to major in, and it let me live and work close to home."
Rogers transferred to Grand Valley State University in 2005 after completing two years at Kalamazoo Valley. The seamless transfer helped her graduate on time and earn the credits she needed to succeed.
"Kalamazoo Valley and Grand Valley State University gave me the skills, knowledge and real-world perspective needed to thrive - including the value of networking and the importance of internships," she said.
These academic experiences helped Rogers pursue her career with the confidence and experience she needed.
"For me, it wasn't just about earning a degree - it was about being exposed to new perspectives, learning strategies and principles from different angles, and discovering interests I didn't know I had," she said. "It helped me think more broadly, grow in ways I couldn't have on my own, and connect with a community of peers, mentors and professionals who shaped my journey."
