Kalamazoo Valley's EMS Program Awarded the Superior Testing Achievement Recognition Letter

Kalamazoo Valley's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program was awarded the Superior Testing Achievement Recognition letter.

The award signifies that Valley students in the 2022 paramedic program had outstanding pass rates in their national board exams. The Paramedic National Registry Certification (NREMT) exam is a nationally recognized test that validates a paramedic's knowledge and skills.

The pass rate in the program was higher than 90%. It places the program in the top pass rates in Michigan for paramedic programs for the year 2022.

"This recognition is a testament to the exceptional quality of education and training that Kalamazoo Valley's program provides," said Emily Bergquist, director of the EMS and systems of care division. "It reflects the hard work, dedication and commitment of Kalamazoo Valley's instructors, staff and, most importantly, students."

This highlights Kalamazoo Valley's commitment to providing high-level education for future EMS professionals. EMS Program Director Daniel Benard says he is proud of Valley's EMS students and all their diligence.

"Every day, I witness the hard work and dedication from both our faculty and students, and this award showcases that effort," Benard said. "We are thrilled to receive this recognition, and we are so proud of all of our current students and alumni."

Emergency medical services students are trained to perform critical emergency medical intervention for both the traumatically injured and the acutely ill patient. Upon successful completion, Kalamazoo Valley's medical services programs qualify students to take the appropriate licensure exams propelling them into a career in medical services.
