Kalamazoo Valley to Launch Early Childhood Education Program in Fall 2026
Kalamazoo Valley Community College will launch a new Early Childhood Education (ECE) program in Fall 2026, preparing students for careers working with young children in a variety of settings.
Graduates will be qualified for positions in preschool, early childhood and special education classrooms, as well as administrative and director roles in child care centers. Opportunities also include providing child care in both home and center-based environments. Many graduates may transfer credits toward a bachelor's degree in early childhood or elementary education at other colleges and universities.
Advisors and counselors will be available to help students navigate transfer options. The program will allow full-time students to complete the degree in five semesters, with pathways also available for part-time students. Offered in a cohort model, classes will be held at the college's Arcadia Commons Campus in downtown Kalamazoo during the day and evening.
