Valley Voices Story Hour: True Stories. On Stage.
We are looking for your water stories!
Write about a moment that features water in some way, or in which water becomes a part of the story. Your story can touch on water in any of its forms: lakes, rivers, clouds, snow, ice, fog, in a fountain or pool, etc.
Open to writers of all levels: all students, faculty, and staff of Kalamazoo Valley Community College. Deadline for submissions is Nov 21.
Guidelines:
- Water Theme
- True story
- 1-2 pages, typed, double spaced, 12-point font (approximately 500-1000 words)
Writing Tips:
- Vivid images that help your readers imagine the story: sense of sight, taste, touch, smell, sound
- A story you would love to read out loud

Writers will be selected to read on our Moth Story Hour Stage at Anna Whitten Hall: Dec. 5, 2025! There will be live music at the event.
The guidelines are the following:
- Submit at the TTC Faculty Receptionist Desk, where the faculty offices are located
- Submissions will be collected until Nov. 21, 2025
- You may submit up to two stories
- Attach your story to this form
- Open to Kalamazoo Valley students, staff and faculty
- Writers will be selected to read on our Moth Story Hour Stage @ Anna Whitten Hall: Dec. 5, 2025, during the Kalamazoo Art Hop!
- Must be available to read on the evening of Dec. 5th
