Women's History Month Luncheon - 'Leading the Change: Women Shaping an Enduring Future' | Thursday, April 2 | Noon - 1:30pm | FREE | Kalamazoo Valley Community College | Texas Township Campus | Main Gym

Kalamazoo Valley Community College invites the community to the 2026 Women's History Month Luncheon, themed "Leading the Change: Women Shaping an Enduring Future," taking place Thursday, April 2, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at its Texas Township Campus. Registration is underway.

Four noteworthy women will serve as panelists and will be recognized for their achievements at this free public luncheon. They were selected because their leadership strengthens communities, advances equity and builds lasting impact.

"The theme reminds us that meaningful leadership extends beyond the present moment," said Elizabeth Washington, lead organizer for the luncheon. Washington is chief of staff and associate vice president for collaboration compliance and analytics at Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

"The women we are honoring have strengthened our community in ways that will benefit generations to come. This event creates space for reflection, connection and renewed commitment to building institutions and opportunities that last."

The honorees are:

  • Artrella Cohn, chief impact officer at Communities in Schools of Kalamazoo
  • Dr. Valarie Cunningham, Ph.D., LMSW, D. Min., founder and CEO of Synergy Health Center and BlackWellness Network
  • Mary Gustas, executive director at the Comstock Community Center
  • Chef Stephanie Hughes-Winfrey, MBA, director of culinary education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College

All are welcome to attend the Women's History Month luncheon, but advance registration is required by March 25. Click here.
