Instructions for Self-Service Online Transactions
It's easy.  Just click the menu items and enter information as specified.

Register for classes
Search for classes

Login to system
1.  Valley Information Portal (VIP) 2.  Username    (example: jsmith1234)      1st initial, max 10 letters of last name, last 4-digits of social security number or employee ID
3.  Password    (originally your birthdate MMDDYY)
4.  Login
Change your password
From the VIP Home tab:
1.  Enter Username    (example: jsmith1234)
     1st initial, max 10 letters of last name, last 4-digits of  social security number or employee ID
2.  Current Password    (originally your birthdate MMDDYY)
3.  Type New Password
    (Any minimum combination of 5 letters and/or numbers up to a maximum of 15 characters.)
4.  Retype New Password
5.  Change My Password
Register or add a class
From the VIP Student tab:
1. QUICK LINK:  Register Now
or  Follow these menu items:
     Banner Web Registration and Information (1st)
     Banner Web Registration and Information (2nd)
     Student Services and Financial Aid
     Registration

2.  Select Term
3.  Choose term from drop down menu
4.  Submit Term
5.  Add/Drop Classes
6.  Enter a CRN in any of the fields provided in the Add Class table. 
     Entering a CRN on the table does not reserve a seat until you submit your changes.
7.  Submit Changes
     After reviewing course availability, the system will post courses you successfully registered
     for on your Current Schedule.  Error messages for courses that cannot be added will show
     below the current schedule.  For example, cancelled classes will show the error message
     "Course is not available for registration at this time."

     Note:  Print this screen for your tuition bill.

Search for a class
From the VIP Student tab:

2.  Select Term
3.  Choose term from drop down menu
4.  Submit Term
5.  Look-Up Classes to Add
6.  Choose term from drop down menu
     Entering a CRN on the table does not reserve a seat until you submit your changes.
7.  Subject (Required)
8.  Select any available menu choices.  (optional)
9.  Get Classes
10.  Click the box to the left of the CRN
       A "C" in place of the box designates a class is closed.  A box will not appear if you are
       already registered for a CRN or it is too late to register.

11.  Register to immediately add the class
      Note:  We do not recommend using "Add to Worksheet." Entering a CRN on the table
       does not reserve a seat until you submit your changes.

Drop or withdraw from a class
From the VIP Student tab:

2.  Select Term

3.  Choose term from drop down menu

4.  Submit Term

5.  Add/Drop Classes

6. Drop or Withdraw  from the drop down menu to the left of the course 
     If neither option is available, it may be too late to remove yourself from the class.
    Check the deadline dates and if the deadline has not passed, you will need to withdraw
     in person. You may come to either campus to withdraw in person prior to the deadline date.

10.  Enter Your tuition Payment Amount
11.  Submit Payment
       Note:  A confirmation displays when your payment is approved. 
      Print this screen for your receipt.

         Undergraduate = credit courses
         Continuing Education = noncredit courses
         All levels = both credit and noncredit courses
