Emergency Medical Services AAS

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Associate of Applied Science

Emergency medical technicians and paramedics are trained to perform critical emergency medical intervention for both the traumatically injured and the acutely ill patient. Upon successful completion, KVCC's basic EMT and paramedic programs qualify students to take the appropriate licensure exams. These programs have separate application processes and can be taken individually, however completion of a basic EMT program is one of the prerequisites for acceptance into the paramedic program. The associate of applied science degree in emergency medical services (EMS) option combines the basic EMT and paramedic programs with additional general education courses.

Currently enrolled students should check their Degree Works audit for specific course and program information. Students should also consult with a counselor or advisor for program specific information.
