If you support fair trade and local products and you’re interested in learning about how sustainable practices benefit the environment, Sustainable Food Systems may be a good fit for you. If you enjoy food prep or any food-related concerns, as well as managing the daily operation of restaurants and other establishments that prepare and serve food and beverages, this could be ideal placement for you. Typically, you work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays. This work can be fast-paced and stressful.

Job Outlook

According to Bureau of Labor Statistics growth will be between 5-9% by 2024. Most job opportunities are expected to be in food service and food service management, hospitality, restaurants, bars and food production. Employment of agricultural and food scientists is projected to grow as research methods and techniques continue.
