Occupational Technical Studies

Associate of Applied Science

This program of study provides students with an additional option in preparing for career advancement or transition. This degree is personalized and flexible, and designed, in part, to recognize traditional coursework available at KVCC in addition to structured on-the-job training, military, trade/proprietary schools, and apprenticeship programs. Students interested in this degree need to meet with a counselor to determine the appropriate concentration or emphasis of study for an individualized education plan. Students may elect to complete another recognized certificate program within this degree.

Currently enrolled students should check their Degree Works audit for specific course and program information. Students should also consult with a counselor or advisor for program specific information.

*It is essential to see a counselor regarding your program of study to verify course requirements and sequencing. To make an appointment, call 269.488.4100 (TTC) or 269.373.7800 (ACC) or 269.548.3205 (BHLC)

*Program major courses are selected in a concentration area, degree pathway, or emphasis of study. At least 30 credits must be in one of the following concentrations/pathways: industrial trades, business, computer technology, or credit for Prior Learning (from apprenticeship, trade/proprietary, corporate industry, military, and/or structured on-the-job training). In some cases a student may request that courses completed in a concentrated occupational program of study, not a part of those listed above, be considered for the OTS, AAS degree. In all cases students will need to meet with a KVCC counselor to determine the appropriate choice of concentration, degree oath, or emphasis of study.
