KVCC Texas Township Testing Center is the only Kryterion Authorized Testing Center in Southwest Michigan. We offer many of the available tests at our location. (A list of test owners, sponsors, and Exams is available here You’ll need to check out the Kryterion website or the owner of the test to find out if we are able to administer your exam in our office.

Available dates and times for taking a Kryterion hosted exam may vary from KVCC’s Testing Center hours. Registration, scheduling, and payment are all handled on the sponsor’s website and through their scheduling platform Webassessor. If you have any questions, please contact Kryterion directly.

West Michigan ASE Certified mechanics get their certifications done at KVCC’s Testing Center. If you are in need of getting your ASE certifications done, you can have the tests taken at our Texas Township Testing Center.

First steps involve creating a myASE account then obtain your ASE number, purchasing the exam(s) from ASE, scheduling your testing appointment at the ASE/Prometric website. When you show up to take your test, be sure to bring your ASE number and your driver's license.

If you have to cancel your appointment go through your myASE account or by calling 800-390-6789 (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm EST). Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 3 days before the scheduled appointment to avoid forfeiting fees.

KVCC Testing Center and Metro Institute have teamed up to administer the Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDARD) tests. To get set up to take a test involves setting up an account with the Metro Institute, paying for the tests you want to take online, then setting up the appointment to take the test with us. All test purchases and scheduling is handled through Metro Institute’s website. When you come in to see us bring your state ID and your best smile. We will check your ID and take a digital photo. You will be able to start your test within minutes of walking through our testing center’s doors. Most test results will be available immediately after you finish. Be sure to stop by the testing center’s desk to pick up a printed copy of your test results before you leave. (Many employers want to see that hardcopy of the test results for any reimbursement

Pearson Professional Assessment

The Testing Center located at the Texas Township Campus is a Pearson Professional Assessment authorized testing site for hundreds of professional certification and licensure exams. The most common Pearson tests proctored include CompTIA, IT certifications for companies like Microsoft and Cisco Systems, teacher certifications, and pharmacy technicians. If your profession requires a certification, you may likely be able to complete such certification at the Texas Township Testing Center. The steps to register and purchase a certification test are as follows:

  1. Visit the Pearson Vue website at https://www.pearsonvue.com/us/en/test-takers.html to find your exam program by using the search bar.
  2. Follow the instructions provided on the website to register and purchase your selected certification. At this stage, you might be redirected to another website to register and to sign-up for a specific certification test.
  3. Select the KVCC's Texas Township Testing Center for your testing location.* After you have completed the registration process, you will receive an email confirmation from Pearson Vue with the certification test information such as time, date and location of your test.

*If KVCC's Texas Township Testing Center is not listed as a potential testing site, it is possible the test may only be taken at a Pearson company owned testing location - a Pearson Professional Center (PCC) - located in Grand Rapids, East Lansing, or metro Detroit.

What to expect on Test Day

Please arrive at KVCC's Texas Township Testing Center 15-30 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Please note that you might be able to start your certification test earlier than the appointment time, but late arrivals are not permitted.

The admissions process will involve a few steps. The steps to the admissions process are as follows:

  1. IDENTIFICATION: You will be asked to provide identification. Each certification test has its own required form(s) of identification. Please make sure to bring the identification documentation required by your particular certification test.
  2. TEST RULES: You will be given a set of exam rules (available in both digital and on print formats). Your signature is required to acknowledge your consent and adherence to these rules.
  3. PHOTOGRAPH: There are times that a photo of yourself is required. Photo will be taken using the Testing Center's camera by the Testing Center staff.
  4. STORAGE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY: All of your personal items, including your mobile phone, will have to be stored in the lockers located at the Testing Center.
  5. SECURITY SCREENING: Pearson Vue requires that all test takers complete a specific list of security steps prior to entering the testing room. The security screening steps are as follows:
    1. Lift your hair.
    2. Push up your sleeves.
    3. Turn out your pockets.
    4. Pat yourself down to verify that you do not have any unauthorized material on your person.
    5. Remove your eyeglasses for its visual inspection by Testing Center staff.
